COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE. SHARED OPPORTUNITY.

GraphKind Citizen Scientists Programme

A good environmental question should not go unexplored because a community cannot afford the tools. Apply in advance for free, project-based access to GraphKind with a clear case for the difference your investigation could make.

Local knowledge can unlock greener futures.

Investigate litter flows, neighbourhood resource reuse, habitat connections or the knock-on effects of local changes. Use graph intelligence and AI-assisted exploration to understand what the connections mean and turn findings into practical proposals.

The programme is intended for citizen scientists, volunteer groups, community organisations and non-commercial research collaborations with an identifiable project lead. Your investigation should offer a clear environmental or community benefit and a feasible plan for acting on or sharing its findings.

Routine commercial consultancy, private investment analysis and work primarily benefiting a paying client should use a commercial arrangement. Mixed projects can apply, but must explain how public benefit is protected and why free access is appropriate.

An award that fits your investigation.

All approved awards are free for the agreed term. The tiers below are indicative programme offers; the award letter confirms access, usage allowances, dates and any support. Access is subject to application review and available programme capacity, not automatic entitlement.

Explore

1 project lead · up to 3 months

For a focused feasibility study. Proposed access includes one project workspace, core graph exploration and a limited allocation of LLM and graph-analysis usage, plus self-guided onboarding material.

Investigate

Up to 3 collaborators · up to 6 months

For a team with a credible data plan and defined outputs. Proposed access includes a shared project workspace, collaborative investigation and an agreed AI-analysis allowance, with an onboarding session subject to capacity.

Community Impact

Up to 5 collaborators · up to 12 months

For a stronger public-benefit case with a delivery partner and measurable outcomes. Proposed access includes an agreed project workspace, a tailored analysis allowance and a scheduled progress review, subject to capacity.

Free access does not mean unlimited compute, storage or support. Dataset size, integrations, exports and usage limits must be agreed before access starts. Awards do not include cash grants, guaranteed results or automatic renewal. We will agree how you can retain permitted outputs before access expires.

Build a case for the change you want to make.

Send a concise application of approximately 800–1,200 words. Answer the questions below, request a tier and include your name, organisation or group, role and contact email. An individual applicant can apply without an organisation.

Your investigation

What specific environmental question will you investigate? Define the place, system and boundaries. What decision or action could the results inform?

Public benefit and green growth

Who benefits, and how? Explain the potential environmental, social or resource-efficiency gains. If there is an economic opportunity, show how it supports community benefit rather than only private profit.

Why GraphKind

Why do you need graph relationships, an LLM or machine-learning analysis? Explain what a spreadsheet or existing method cannot adequately reveal, and what you expect to learn from the connections.

Data and permissions

What data do you already have, and what still needs collecting? State sources, licences, ownership, expected scale and quality gaps. Explain permissions and lawful handling of any personal information. Do not attach raw sensitive data.

Delivery plan

What are your milestones, timeline and available people or skills? Identify partners, practical constraints and how you will check AI-generated findings against evidence.

Outcomes and success

What will you produce: a map, intervention proposal, evidence brief or another output? Define measurable indicators and a realistic baseline. Who can act on your findings? Avoid promising outcomes you cannot evidence.

Sharing and ethics

What findings could you share openly, with whom and when? Explain confidentiality, community consent, attribution and any risks to people, wildlife or vulnerable locations. Open sharing must respect data rights and safety.

Access and additionality

Which tier do you request, how many collaborators need access and for how long? Explain why free access is needed, what would happen without it, any funding or commercial interests, and what support would help you complete the project.

Tell us what you want to investigate.

Email your application to info@graphkind.com with the subject “Citizen Scientists Programme application”. Send your brief as email text or an accessible document. We do not need identity documents, bank details or raw investigation datasets at this stage.

Applications are assessed on public benefit, clarity of the question, data readiness and permissions, feasibility, responsible use of AI and the likelihood that someone can act on the outputs. We may ask for clarification or recommend a different tier. Acceptance and timing depend on capacity; no fixed decision deadline is promised.

Successful applicants receive a written award setting out their project, authorised users, agreed limits, term and review points. Access starts only after the applicable platform terms and data arrangements are agreed. Material changes to the project, eligibility or data risks must be discussed with us.

Application details will be used to assess your proposal, communicate with you and administer any award. Share only information you have permission to disclose. Any public project profile or named case study will be agreed separately with you.

GraphKind is coming soon. Applications may be discussed in advance, but programme access cannot begin before the platform launches. Approved award dates will be agreed in writing.
